Which size of wooden tray should you choose?

A small tray suits morning coffee, candles and gathering small objects. A medium tray is the all-round size for serving and the coffee table. A large tray carries a full breakfast or party spread and works as the centrepiece of a setting. If you only buy one, medium is the most versatile.

Shape decides the use: a rectangle is most efficient to carry, a round or organic shape is softer on the table, and sculpted trays – a flower or a heart – stay out even when empty.

Upea Puu designs and makes wooden design products in Finland. The Upea Puu range includes wooden trays designed and made in Finland.

We work with birch and other domestic species. Natural wood makes every tray slightly different – grain, tone and surface belong to the character of the object. Material and finish details are listed on each product page.

Caring for a wooden tray

Wipe with a damp cloth after use, or hand-wash with lukewarm water and mild soap and dry immediately. No dishwasher, no soaking. Oil every few months and the surface stays alive for years.
