What to take abroad? Finnish design gifts in wood

A Finnish gift does not have to be a souvenir

When you are looking for a gift to take from Finland to a friend, a host family, a client or a partner abroad, one option is an everyday object that speaks of Finland without feeling like a souvenir.

In Upea Puu products, Finnishness shows in the design, the material and the making.

A piece of Finnish design that stays in use after the trip.

What makes a good gift to take abroad?

Finnish design: the object carries its origin without explanation.
Natural wood: a recognisable, warm and durable material.
Designed in Finland — manufacturing details are listed on each product page.
An easy-to-understand function: serving, organising or decorating.
Useful after the trip, not just on the day it is given.
A design story: there is a reason for the shape.

Onni – a Finnish gift with a story

Onni is a wooden tray shaped after a four-leaf clover. The Finnish word "onni" means happiness or good fortune, which gives the piece an easily understood story as an international gift.

Onni is a wooden design object designed in Finland, used for serving, for organising or as part of an interior.
